Florida Teen Faces 30 Years in Prison for Beating Teacher Unconscious Over Nintendo Switch: A Florida teenager who beat a female teacher unconscious after his Nintendo Switch video game was confiscated pleaded guilty to the shocking crime on Monday and faces up to 30 years behind bars. The incident, which occurred at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, Florida, in January 2023, was captured on video and went viral. The video shows the student, who was 17 years old at the time, approach the teacher, snatch the Nintendo Switch out of her hand, and throw it to the ground. He then punches the teacher in the face multiple times, knocking her unconscious.

The student was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a teacher. He pleaded guilty to the charge on Monday and is scheduled to be sentenced in December.

The student’s actions have sparked outrage and debate across the country. Some people believe that the student deserves a harsh sentence, while others believe that he should be given a second chance.

The student’s attorney, Mark O’Mara, said in a statement that his client is “deeply remorseful” for his actions. He said that the student has no prior criminal record and is a good student.

“He made a terrible mistake, and he is prepared to accept the consequences of his actions,” O’Mara said.

The victim of the attack, who has not been identified, has not commented on the case.

The school district has said that it is taking steps to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. The district has implemented a new policy that prohibits students from bringing electronic devices to school.

The district has also said that it is providing training to teachers on how to deal with disruptive students.
