Lemann was employed as a trainee at Credit Suisse in Geneva, Switzerland, from 1961 to 1962. Additionally, he bought stock in the 1966 insolvent lending company Invesco. Banco Garantia was acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston in 1998.

Lemann grew out of his and his partners’ Brazilian investment office to co-found 3G Capital, a worldwide investment firm, in 2004. Kraft and Heinz merged under the guidance of 3G Capital and Warren Buffett.

Lemann and his business associates bought the Brazilian breweries Antarctica and Brahma in the late 1980s. After the brewers united in the late 1990s, they founded Ambev, which went on to take the lead in the beer markets of several South American nations, such as Uruguay, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. InBev was formed in the summer of 2004 when Ambev and Interbrew from Belgium merged. 2008 saw Anheuser-Busch acquired by InBev, making Anheuser-Busch InBev the biggest brewer in the world.
