Giovanni Simeone Could Be on the Move in Late January

Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone could be a name to watch in the late January transfer window, with Napoli reportedly open to offers for the 27-year-old. Simeone, nicknamed “Cholito,” has struggled for regular playing time this season, making just 12 appearances in all competitions for the Partenopei.

Despite his limited opportunities, Simeone has impressed when given the chance, scoring three goals and providing one assist. His performances have reportedly caught the eye of a number of clubs, both in Italy and abroad.

According to transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Napoli are willing to listen to offers for Simeone in January, although they would prefer to recoup the €14 million they paid for him from Genoa in 2020.

“The relationship between Simeone and Napoli remains good, but it is an open situation,” Pedullà said. “If a good proposal arrives, Napoli could decide to sell him.”

Simeone’s departure could set off a domino effect in the transfer market, with Napoli potentially using the funds from his sale to reinvest in another striker. A number of names have been linked with a move to Naples, including Andrea Belotti of Torino and Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo.

It remains to be seen whether Simeone will leave Napoli in January, but one thing is for sure: he is a talented striker who would be a valuable asset for any club. His combination of pace, power, and finishing ability would make him a real threat in front of goal.

Simeone’s Potential Destinations

If Simeone does leave Napoli, there are a number of clubs that could be interested in signing him. Here are a few potential destinations:

  • Everton: The Toffees are in desperate need of a new striker after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury woes. Simeone’s physicality and work ethic would be a good fit for Everton’s Premier League style of play.
  • Sevilla: The Spanish club are always on the lookout for young talent, and Simeone’s potential would be appealing to them. He could form a potent partnership with Youssef En-Nesyri in attack.
  • Marseille: The French side are another club that have been linked with a move for Simeone. He would be a popular signing among the Marseille fans, given his father Diego’s legendary status at the club.

It will be interesting to see where Simeone ends up if he does leave Napoli. He is a player with a lot of potential, and he could have a big impact at a new club.
