According to reports, Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for the Assin Central district, has provided a grader to Adolf Tetteh Adjei, a businessman who has been given a court order to remove structures that an investigative journalist named Anas Aremeyaw Anas claims were built illegally on his property.

According to a court decision, Anas’s buildings should be taken down in order to give the landowner access to his legitimate property because they were erected against the law.

Kennedy Agyapong’s brother cum lawyer Ralf Agyapong responded to the court’s ruling in an interview with Okay FM on May 19, 2023, asserting that Anas’s actions constituted a criminal offense and that it is against the law to build on someone else’s property and that the MP had offered the businessman a grader to perform the demolition.

Can you just go and steal someone’s land and build on it? “When you steal someone’s land and build on it, it is a criminal act. The judge was correct in saying that he should destroy it because it is a crime, and Ken even offers to lend him a grader if he doesn’t have one.

“He (Anas) took the law into his own hands like he is a tin god, so during the time that the matter was still pending in court he utilized his own powers to create, but you Anas who are you? to travel there and construct there. And the Adolf guy, who is a really strong man, is also not an easy person to deal with. There was even an injunction, but Anas believed he was a tin god and ignored it, asking, “Who born dog? He can’t negotiate anything with him, if he is listening to me, he should destroy the building.” He spoke

He went on to criticize Anas’ actions, saying that he had broken the law by starting construction while the case was still being heard in court.

A court will order the demolition of a complex of apartments built and owned by Anas, as well as a glass factory in the Accra suburb of Tse-Ado.

A court recently determined that the journalist had ignored a court order requesting him to halt the project until the land dispute was settled and had instead continued with work on disputed property.

Adolf Tetteh Adjei has been given permission to demolish the buildings and projects that Anas had planned for the location after a final decision on the property that did not favor Anas, the landowner, was rendered.

Justice Kwame Gyamfi Osei, the judge who ruled over the land dispute, awarded GHC100,000 to Adolf Tetteh Adjei and stated that the landowner should utilize the money for demolition rather than Anas Aremeyaw Anas performing the destruction himself.

After the decision, Anas allegedly made multiple attempts to bargain with the landowner and pay for the entire cost of the land in order to prevent the demolition of his factory and flats.

Adolf Tetteh Adjei, however, has stated he is not interested in selling the land to Anas since the journalist terrorized him for several years prior to going to court by using land guards and police.

MyNewsGh.com sources claim that Anas worked with several Chinese businessmen to build the facility at a period when the ownership of the site was in dispute.
