I started loving Kofi Kinaata’s music During the Toy soldiers’ days, Melody Fm days. Onyi Chorus Days, The Kikkiliki, Visit to shaolin days to which I use his lyrics for rap battles with a friend who was also a big fan.
I mostly attended all his performance during the High School Days and it it feels like Yesterday. The love for his craft and dynamism with words in Fante is too Deep for shallow thinkers.
The pace and growth in his Music are something to be said at another time, Kofi raps in all his songs and undoubtfully his prowess and delivery has been on point since the 80’s. It was of no News for me when the Susuka was used in 2016 by KNUST but it is sometime we can boast off,it is not easy to attain such a Great recognition. Till Today most of his old songs like,Obini ba,Onyi Chorus still sound fresh in the Ears and i can bet you people can still rap it to the end.
The best comes from the West and so far, there is no Worse Artists from this side.
The Dominance, acceptance and penetration into the Ghana Music scene (Nationwide) per my little knowledge started with Susuka and there is consistency in motion in every Music he drops. The mastermind and craft in the songs he releases is exceptional, I mean one of a kind, He is still humble, Lifestyle the same Haircut maintained not even Fame has made him change. Those who knows him or has come close to him can attest of his sense of Great Humor, He never jokes with his Jokes. Most of his songs are even used by preachers to deliver a specific message
All I wish for him as he turns 33 is for him to continue to be the KOFI that we know and Love with the Positive Music for the Soul.
Age with Greatness and Wisdom….Obinfo King Solomon wank) Legon….We keep Moving.
And Yes he will surely drop a song today
